AL-9700 is a powerful, durable, point of sale terminal specifically designed to enhance the capability of the most memory-hungry point of sale software. No matter how demanding the software, AL-9700 operates at optimum speed.

Solidly built to operate in the most punishing locations, the die-cast aluminium casing combines strength with attractive, modern design and practicality.

Relentless attention to the smallest detail is demonstrated by the spring loaded screws that cannot be mislaid because they remain attached to the base when the cable management cover is removed to reveal the ports.

The heavy duty build of the rear cover enables it to support optional peripherals such as a pole display or a rear TFT screen.

The abundant I/O access includes 5 external serial ports, 8 external USB ports, 1 cash drawer port that can be 12v or 24v, 1 PS2 port for keyboard, 1 RJ45 Giga LAN port, 1 VGA video port, 1 display port, 1 audio port and HDMI

In a left hand recessed panel are two USB ports for easy downloading of data, the on/off power button and a screen brightness adjustment. The luminosity of the 350 nits screen can be adjusted for clear viewing according to whether the environment is brightly or dimly lit.

A magnetic server button is discreetly and conveniently located at the right toward the front. Card reader options can be magnetic swipe card, fingerprint and/or IC card.

2 drive bays located at the front are locked to prevent unauthorised access. The bays contain 1, or optionally 2, hard drives for RAID functionality. The hard drives can be 80Gb or 160Gb.

The RAID functionality allows the 2 hard drives to mirror each other. In the unlikely event of a hard drive failure, AL-9700 continues to operate using the functioning hard drive. At a convenient time, the user can simply insert a replacement hard drive cassette whereupon the working hard drive will automatically copy the data to the new drive and the mirror imaging function resumes.

2 speakers are built into the base above the hard drive bays.

AL-9700 incorporates a virtually silent fan that is controlled according to the ambient temperature. The heavy-duty, all metal construction minimises the need for a fan but, because the CPU is so powerful, the fan is called into operation as and when necessary.

AL-9700 combines POS applications with HD level media capability and has powerful graphic performance.

With its integrated ATI HD3200 graphic IC and optional side-port memory, AL-9700 can also operate digital signage including multiple displays with independent audio stream support.
